Introduction:
As a medical professor, it is important to provide students with assignments that challenge their understanding of medical concepts and encourage them to critically analyze and apply their knowledge. In this module, students will be learning about food allergies and medication-nutrient interactions. The assignment for the week includes a discussion post focused on medication-food interactions, and the submission of 3 scholarly peer reviewed references for their course project.

Answer to the Content:
For the course project, three scholarly peer reviewed references that would be used are:

1. Katz DL, Meller S. Can we say what diet is best for health? Annu Rev Public Health. 2014;35:83-103. doi: 10.1146/annurev-publhealth-032013-182351.
Explanation: This reference would be used to provide an overview of the impact of diets on health outcomes, with a focus on how different dietary patterns can affect the incidence of food allergies and medication interactions.

2. Wang X, Bao W, Liu J, et al. Inflammatory markers and risk of type 2 diabetes: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Diabetes Care. 2013;36(1):166-175. doi:10.2337/dc12-0702.
Explanation: This reference would be used to provide insight into the relationship between inflammation and diabetes, which is a common comorbidity associated with food allergies and medication interactions.

3. Sicherer SH, Sampson HA. Food allergy: epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment. J Allergy Clin Immunol. 2014;133(2):291-307. doi:10.1016/j.jaci.2013.11.020.
Explanation: This reference would be used to provide a comprehensive overview of food allergies, including their epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment, with a focus on how medication and nutrient interactions can exacerbate allergic reactions.

These resources would serve as a foundation for students to conduct additional research and build their knowledge on food allergies and medication-nutrient interactions throughout the course.
