Everett Rogers’s diffusion of innovation as mentioned in the article, is a process that occurs among people in response to learning about an innovation such as the new evidence-based approach for extending or improving health care. Rogers theory points out four elements of diffusion that involves innovations, communication channels, time and social system. Rogers’s diffusion theory is related to change because it is about adapting to innovations to bring changes. (Dearing, Cox, 2018). Rogers’ theory describes a 5-step innovation decision process. Potential adopters of the innovation pass through 5 stages: knowledge, persuasion, decision, implementation, and confirmation. (Leming-Lee, Watters, 2019). When a innovations are implemented within a organization for a change it is important for the staff to understand the change and accept the new change by adopting to it by abandoning the prior one.
